Alarm Alarm

I need to start taking better polaroids. There are few polaroids I truly cherish. That's not good seeing how polaroids are expensive. I should stop aiming to shoot rubbish and aim to shoot better stuff ( haha, geddit ).

So from this moment till June 22nd, there really is no stopping in shooting. I do want to shoot, shoot, shoot and finish the damn briefs but organizing the models and make-up artists is really annoying. Sometimes, they don't reply till it's quite late for me to book the studio. 0_O

I have yet to adjust to my new age of 25 years old. I'm currently looking at older women for a shoot. Just minutes ago, I saw one and went "oh, 25 seems old enough!" until I realized I'm 25! *Bawls*

Polaroids!!

I was walking to the living room whilst holding my SX-70 when I accidentally pressed the shutter.


Now if I was actually aiming to shoot, I'd make sure the lines were properly aligned. That's what makes my work always so boring. I guess sometimes it's okay to just go *crazy* and shoot lines that go up. As of lately, I've found my work to be so so so so so boring. :(


It's annoying me that I can't hold anything still! I need to find a tripod for my polaroid camera. Or just shoot where there's lots of light.


I took a picture of Ravin's product to give him. It's beautiful, isn't it? At least this is sharp ( because there was lots and lots of light ).

I am quite tired from all the post-pro and printing I did today. I know I should look at some more visual research but I'm just too tired. I used to be able to stare at the screen for ages. I guess my eyes are getting tired pretty easily. Usually, when I shoot through the viewfinder, I find my eyes so tired after the shoot - with all the refocusing and looking at lights/ flashes.

I Miss High Heels

I honestly don't know how girls wear these heels. :) Even though I'm a girl, I am so out of touch with fashion or heels. I don't remember the last time I wore heels since I started studying photography. In fact, I have not worn heels at all this year!

I registered for my new domain. I'm excited to have my own site - with my own photoblogs, folio section and blog. Oh wow. Oh wow.

Still Life Series?

I shot a polaroid of my set today with the SX-70. I don't know why I never did that before! It's so nice to have a polaroid of your set even though it's not the proper cropping. The studio lecturer talked to me and he asked me to try to work on a still life series - all shot on SX-70. He told me that I should do that next year in my final year. A whole series on polaroids? I couldn't believe him so I told him that he must be kidding me. To do something like that in my final year - the most stressful one of all?! I love still life and the idea of shooting it on polaroids is...too good to be true? It's totally non-commercial and it's a chance for me to really dive into my still life love.

At the end of the day, he called me to go to his office and I saw the most fantastic set of polaroids ( 5x4 ). It belonged to a 3rd year student called Tracy. She shot people in subtle clown costumes and subtle clown make-up. They each had a sad/ expressionless look. There were more than 20 full frame color polaroids on the table - each so beautiful. I am so inspired.

I mentioned the polaroid below is my favourite one so far. Scratch that. Pfftt. The one in this entry is my favourite one now. Heh. A whole series on still life - all diff colors, etc. So tempting.

Click Your Heels 3 Times

This is what I usually do on Wednesday nights. Work out my composition with my props for studio for Thursday's class. This is the final assignment and the rest of the weeks are for our re-shoots. I'm going to shoot Steve Madden shoes tomorrow. I don't intend to wear or keep them.


My props. I enjoy scouting and putting together a set for studio. Maybe my true calling is to be a window display decorator ( I'm sure there's a cooler name for this occupation ).


My props again. I might use these candies instead of flower petals in above polaroid. This is my favourite polaroid so far.

If only I learn the skill to keep still while exposing for a longer shutter speed. :( I was lying on the floor with my elbows on the floor; trying to keep still.

It is now 4.30 in the morning. Studio starts at 9. Yawn. Oyasumi ( ? ).
